Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA)

The Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA) of 1989 - also known as the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act - requires institutions of higher education to establish policies that address unlawful possession, use, or distribution of alcohol and illicit drugs. The DFSCA also requires the establishment of a drug and alcohol prevention program.

How to Report a Crime or Emergency
To report a crime or an emergency on campus, contact Campus Police at (903) 875-7500. Navarro College Police Officers respond to all reports of crimes and emergencies. 
 
For anonymous reporting, go to the Department of Campus Safety website and complete the form. This information is directed to the Campus Chief of Police and will remain confidential. 
Call 911 and or Campus Security if:
  • Someone is injured or ill
  • You see fire or smell smoke
  • You see something suspicious
  • Someone is hurting another
  • You see someone stealing something or vandalizing property
  • You have something stolen
 
If you are not sure if security is needed, call to let us respond and assess the situation. Call quickly. Don’t assume someone else has made the call. Try to provide accurate detailed information about the problem. Stay on the line until the dispatcher or the officer says it is ok to hang up. Campus Police is available 24/7.
