Active in many civic affairs serving on the Public Relations Committee of the Corsicana Chamber of Commerce, Secretary/Treasurer of the Navarro Ex-Student Association, member of the Board of Trustees of the Navarro County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and Vice President of the Derrick’s Day Committee.

She was Assistant Vice President at the State National Bank in Corsicana, Director of Student Financial Aid at Navarro College and later worked for First State Bank in Corsicana.
