(In fondest memory of J.B. Carrington, who passed away May 30, 2007)

J.B. Carrington was raised at the Corsicana State Home where he later came back to coach the football team after serving in the U.S. Army during WWII.

While at Navarro he was a tackle on the 1948-1949 Championship Football team at Navarro.

Selected Who’s Who at Navarro and met his wife Joan Long during chemistry class.

After graduating from Navarro, Carrington attended Stephen F. Austin University where he received his bachelor’s in history and his Master’s in Education.

He coached football and baseball at Diboll High School and Allen Military Academy, the latter of which he became headmaster.

Became Dean of Men at Blinn College from 1972-1991.

Member of numerous service organizations, including Phi Theta Kappa, National Association of Secondary School Principals and Freemasons.
